About Ralph

My voice is adaptable to a range of projects.  It is moderately deep and professional, which works well for corporate narrations, documentaries and audio or video presentations.  It can convey energy and excitement for commercials and promos.  It can convey passion and strong emotion when necessary.  It is the voice of a storyteller.  My Midwestern voice has been likened to that of Ken Burns, John Chancellor or David McCullough.

For 15 years, I've worked as an on-air talent handling newscasts, business news and medical journals for Radio Talking Book Network.  I currently narrate and produce two 29 minute broadcasts, and co-anchor a live, two-hour newscast each week for RTB Network.

I have 35 years of experience working as President and CEO of Midlands Choice and as a senior executive for The Nebraska Methodist Health System.  I worked with a large board of directors for more than 20 of those years.

I have extensive experience in the pronunciation of medical terminology. Laparascopic cholecystectomy and cholangiography, nephrectomy, linear accelerator, coronary microvascular disease, simvastatin, myocardial infarction and carotid endarterectomy roll off my tongue.

I have a Bachelor's Degree in Journalism and a Master of Business Administration degree, both earned at Creighton University.  In the voice field, I've taken audio book production training from Chicago's Bill DeWees, and work with him as a voice-over coach.

When I'm not recording, I serve as a member of the Troop Committee of my son, Noah's Boy Scout Troop 430, as camp director for Camp Cedars, the Mid-America Council's premier Scouts BSA resident camp, and also serve as a member of the Boards of Directors of Community Alliance and Radio Talking Book Service.

My wife, Mikaelah, and I make our home in Tomlinson Woods, in Omaha, Nebraska.
